Charities/causes: ---- | Biography During the making of the debut, Gabe Saporta began to transition Cobra Starship into a bona fide band. The first to sign on was the drummer Nate Novarro, who'd befriended Saporta during his days selling merch for Hidden In Plain View, then later as a drum tech for Armor For Sleep. A native Georgian, Novarro brings a splash of Southern flavor to the mix and is such a proud Southern gentleman, he steadfastly refuses to move to New York City, preferring his home state where he spends his free time fishing. When first recruited to the band, Novarro stayed in Gabe Saporta's basement, and did not abandon the project even though his car was stolen three days after his arrival in Brooklyn.
